A frozen shoulder is an menacing occurrence. It can happen at any time and, for me, it happened at the same time my husband retired...June 2009. The 'gates were open' and we were free to roam!
First stop on the trail was Alabama, to work on the house that our son was re-doing. My job was scrubbing the ceilings after the 'popcorn finish' had been removed....high arm-extension, repetitive motion.
The next stop was Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, to re-do a condo. Painting the whole interior and scrubbing the floor tile grout were my jobs. But, by this time a frozen shoulder had revealed its unmistakable presence and the pain had become full-blown. I was able to get down on the floor to clean the grout, but my husband had to lift me up each time there was a change of work area. Painting the walls was cumbersome, and the floor-level cutting-in of the trim was agonizing.
Sleeping was difficult, as the pain was incessant. However, there was no time to stop work or see a physician....we only had 1 month in which to finish this condo project.
During a brief respite from the task at hand we headed out to purchase food and supplies. On the way, we took an exploratory left-hand turn toward the ocean to seen an area we had not yet surveyed.
Along that roadway was a sign on a fence that said something about 'muscle pain relief' ... manufactured on-island. I wrote down the name of the product and, upon arrival at a store, asked the pharmacist about BioAstin. She literally 'melted' right then and there, smiled and stated that it was "one of the best products we sell".
On the way out , with BioAstin in hand, I was emotionally tense...hoping that this product would relieve the concentrated pain that never let up, inhibited normal motion and had slowed down my ability to help with the re-do project.
That day's shopping trip happened half way through our month on the island. By the time of our departure I had been taking BioAstin for about 2 weeks, and experienced dramatic relief from the pain. The plane ride back to the mainland and drive home to northern California was a comfortable experience. While meeting with a physical therapist there and doing the exercises she presented, I continued taking BioAstin.
Total recovery was remarkably fast, and the physical therapist favorably commented about the results, noting the product I was using!
Thankfully, that malady has never returned...and BioAstin continues to keep me fully mobile to this day!
